I wrote this about 3 years ago, so I'm sorry if it's a bit rough around the edges!

Blood and tears, little girl, the old man used to say,
Life's not about anything else, lock yourself away.
Dreams will be just out of your reach, you'll be rotten to the core,
Why try to be someone, when nothing's worth living for?

I used to be happy, he whispered, a long, long time ago,
My head was full of fairytales, no worries, sadness or woe.
I knew if I worked hard enough, it'd be worth it in the end,
Little was I to know, my dear, misfortune was my friend.

You in your 4 short years don't know what life's about,
It's only fair to tell you, soon you will want a way out.
Insincerity is prevalent, no one wants to be your friend,
They're only in it for themselves, it won't be you that they defend.

Don't look at life in tinted glasses, see it for what is is,
A downwards spiralling hellhole, a never ending abyss.
Of course if you want to be happy, by all means give it a try,
But soon you'll be back where you started, "blood and tears" you'll cry.
