Gag question

Sir and i were in a fetish shop yesterday looking for a suitable collar..which was duely brought and paid for...while there He started looking at the selection of gags that were on offer.....a problem has arrisen and i wondered if anyone here would have a suggestion as to how we could get around it....

i have a mild allergy to latex/rubber...when worn it brings me out in a nasty blisterlike rash...therefor Sir will not buy a gag made from those substances.....which is just about all of them...the only all leather gag that the shop had was pretty much just a leather loop on the back of a mouth cover...which would be fairly inefective at gagging me....has anyone any suggestions as to either where He might be able to get a better leather gag or something that He could use as an alternative....

I really wonder about the looks I get from one of the young female cashiers when I purchase different size collars for my different sized 'pets'. i cannot make out where are you located, but some leather stores, especially those that deal with fetish clothing might be able to help you. Also – just a suggestion, look on line for leather gags, leather ball gag, leather penis gag etc. while i personally love leather, i don’t like the taste of it in my mouth. Obviously you do not have much choice (being allergic and all) but apart for store bought, home made ones maybe of the tick silky rope, knotted, used together with some cloth, or the metal ring and leather gag one on top of some cloth in your mouth (which can than, conveniently be pulled out to free mouth for some better stuffing...) will do nicely, i think

Assuming your allergy is specifically to latex, have a look through the pet stores for suitably shaped vinyl dog toys which can be strung on a strap, or used to replace the latex plug or ball on a store-bought gag.

The only potential problem here is staying serious while being gagged with a vinyl hambone, smiley-ball or something equally silly

My femsub has a similar irritant reaction to latex dildoes, so I've learnt to look at these vinyl shapes with a very imaginative eye!

your local sports equipment store could also have balls that might work. I don't know what lacrosse, squash or other common balls are made of, but surely there is something that would work for you.

worse come to worse, just go to a local hardware store and find a wooden ball suitable for the task. Sure, it'll taste horrible for you, but...in the end isn't your discomfort kinda secondary to the whole objective?

The lovely red and leo have already mentioned the two suggestions I thought of while reading your plea. The only other thing I would care to mention is unconventional gagging. LadyAmanda's post in this thread is a perfect example.

Cheap, easy to find and very effective are bandanas. I always recommend them.

Also, if you look hard enough, you'll find gags with no latex content at all. Ebay, for instance, usually has a selection that would rival any toy store. I bought a ring gag on ebay that was leather over steel, no latex or rubber at all.

Ack! Your suggestion of bandannas reminded me... a former Dom used to have me remove my panties, wad them, stuffed them in my mouth, then tied a bandanna to keep them in. *blush* It worked rather well.

I live in Canada and I use ebay for all sorts of services all the time. I bought a paddle a few months after I moved up here and it arrived safe and sound without any problems.

they make a leather covered ball gag that sits inside your mouth with a leather strap across. very effective. it takes about a week to post to america, and with the exchange rate shouldn't be too expensive.

used a makeshift one the other day a tightly rolled up sock secured in place with a length of rope..worked very effectively though ....Sir did take a pic but not sure if i should post it or not...lol am not exactly photogenic..

Slightly off the gag topic, but I've found that having my sub visit the porn/fetish shops with me is a nice humiliation for her. I make her ask for specific items at the counter and have the clerk show her what she is looking for, then have her pay for the items. She, of course, has to wear appropriate slut attire for these field trips. It's fun to watch the looks she gets from the "browsers". For me, e-bay would take half the fun out of it!

*nod* Ditto F_F. It's the texture for me, but cloth almost always makes me gag. The Dominants in the past I've played with who used cloth gags would add a bit of flavor, such as a sprinkle of lemon or orange juice... or use a pair of panties that one of us was wearing. *blush* That seemed to keep me from gagging on the cloth.

Anybody have any experience with those ball gags that have straps going over the head and under the chin as well as round the back? They look cool. Is the main advantage that you can pull the head back with the gag or is it just a more secure variant?
