    Online Pet peeves...

ranting and raving is good for the soul, so here goes.

I really hate when people use "secret" little words that have been created especially for the cyber world. Some of them are easy to learn, like LoL or Rofl etc. but at some point I really have to say enough is enough!
Now of course these little darlings save time typing, but I really get p'ed off when taking the time to write say 30 words to convey a message and after waiting for 2 minutes, you get a *LoL* or some other dumbass excuse for a reply. I mean really, are we just going to start communicating like that all the time now? will a online-sub just start sending "ibabgpsm" in stead of "i've been a bad girl please spank me"? Yikes, I hope not... what if that spills over into the real world... granted, meetings at work would be more efficient if I can simply go *LMAO* and raise a picture of a smiley puking his guts out.
Regarding time saved during typing... its a bit one sided... the time saved typing on one end is spent trying to figure out what the little three letter bastard actually means, and for that matter how its relevant to the conversation I'm trying to have.

OMGTDGLTE!! (O My God That Did Get Longer Than Expected)

    Cheers

Chatroom-speak may be convenient in chatrooms. Zero time pressure on a forum, thank all the Muses of Typing, Editing and Proofreading!

I hate it more than that when people say 'u' instead of 'you' or 'r' instead of 'are'...seriously, it takes a half a second to type out a whole word...why not? am I not worthy of it? It's not just those simple words, I hate when people use abbreviations or try to shorten up words...nobody can be that lazy, and it pretty much tells me I'm not worth typing out the whole word for you know?

Great thread of pet peeves. I have all these listed too. I am fortunate to never have been in BDSM chat rooms to experience much of what you are all talking about. But, when I started coming to message boards like this one and others I thought that caps speak was the thing to do and I hated it. Thankfully I quickly learned how annoying it is to others so I stopped.
    Read!!A wonderful romantic BDSM story.

I agree completely, most abbreviations dont bother me; but those to i cannot deal with. The other one is gr8 or sk8er, why cant people just type out those letters, its only a few more to write!
The worst has to be waz though.... why do it, your not typing out another letter, your just changing one to make the word look strange!

    Hee hee

only one I have to disagree with is I'm a mistress with a financial slave. Though I do switch on occasion to let him release some of his frustrations.

It just worked out that way, but I do enjoy all these bon bons I'm supposedly eating. I did once work outside the home, but it put a serious crimp in our play time, so I quit.

The whole rules thing drives me nuts because we switch. Anything goes at our house. And formality limits spontaneity

So happy to find the boards are back, they were misplaced earlier.
