    Scene music

When planning a scenedDoes anyone exploit the repetitive use of music to train/condition a sub to react/submit by association ?

Any suggestions ? How about .....

    Hate Me - Blue October
    Musical Bells - Mike Oldfield
    Under Pressure - Queen

    Sardis

Wait, what - we're not talking about scene as in indie/shoegaze? How confusing!

    I'd recommend the below:

At The Drive-In's Acrobatic Tenement - "Initiation" in particular is about obsession and strangulation. Great line: "No restraining order can keep me from you."

Cannibal Corpse's 15 Year Killing Spree - "Meathook Sodomy" can really set the mood.

Atari Teenage Riot - Anything, but especially the Burn, Berlin, Burn album. "Hetzjagd Auf Nazis" is a great song to fuck by; I can't think of a harder speedthrash guitar solo. Alec Empire's solo albums are often good also, including the singles "The Peak", and "Don't Lie White Boy".

I wouldn't recommend the sort of casual sexuality of things like Peaches "Fuck The Pain Away" and "AA XXX"... or Lords of Acid's Lust album. To me, they're too silly, and I always try and keep the laughter out of my scenes.

Slight segue: here's the list of music the U.S. government plays while torturing people. Watch out! It features such brutal, terrifying tracks as the themesong to Barnie the Dinosaur, and cliche` overly-commercialized metal like "Enter The Sandman" and Drowning Pool's "Bodies" (that everyone with a radio has already heard played ad nauseum).

That's very interesting, I would think any music you pick would have the effect as long as it's a continual process.
I would guess though that using certain music in torture creates antagonism with the individual.
Training a submissive to respond to music accordingly, you would want something that soothes them, but puts them in a place you want them to be. You would also want to use something that wouldn't trigger a response at an inappropriate moment.
I say that because I am training my mind to do the opposite. I was never conditioned to respond to music, but certain types of music do trigger something in me.
It is a problem for me because it has always been there, and I don't
like it. I suppose the right Dominant could utalize it properly for me, but then again, it is also triggered at work, home, while shopping.

But I am interested in hearing what others would use for music.

To condition no, but to set the mood/scene sure. My Dom hubby loves rock and is a big Alter Bridge fan. In fact we have been playing a lot this past week and I swear if I have to listen to Metalingus one more time I.Will.Scream.
When I'm good I'm very, very good, but when I'm bad, I'm better.

    Asam Ali - for bondage

    Covenant - for flogging

    techno/industrial for public flogging

whatever strikes the beat in a 140-180 bpm rythm works well for my flogging technique. The lyrics really are not important.

Now for a good mental exchange of heart, and soul. Phantom of the Opera - Music of the Night being sung by the top to a sub can drive her into subspace with nothing more than emotion, love and focus of attention.

For scenes I prefer something non-lyrical so classical works best for many cases or appropriate movie soundtracks. Lyrics can be a distraction as you can end up focussing on them whereas the music can fade into the background and just be there on the edge of perception. You can also do a lot with some EBM style music.

I have a long list of tracks I play at fetish nights which range from Velvet Underground's 'Venus in Furs' to Prodigy's 'Smack my Bitch Up'

Gotto hate Progidy. They caused my tinnitus. High as a house they threw the mixer table out into the audience and massive distortion followed..

Personally I am all for classical pieces when scening though

Indeed! Bartok would be appropriate for many scenes. If you're unfamiliar with Bartok, think of Strauss (the composer of Also sprach Zarathustra), but without the harmonies.

hummm, ive used music a lot in setting moods for preformances on stage and in more private venues, using many musical variations, traditional belly , tribal, soundtracks, classical, jazz, fushion, techno, hip-hop, desi, gothic, punk, industrial, even country music (though i dont reccomend anything by conway twittie lol)

my husband says they use a lot of different musical pieces when teaching resistance training as its also a conditioning tool used on prisoners by many countries

so there must be somthing to it
When love beckons to you, follow him,Though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold you yield to him, Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound thee

    music

Tastes run to classical. For lashing S/S "Dance Macabre". Erik Saite for those times when she is bound and enduring torment. Anything with slow violins works for gradual increase in intensity of clamps, etc.

But if your are looking for true torture. Try the opera/tone poem "Moses and Aaron" Your slave will be crying to make it stop!
